LIBRARY HOURS AND POLICIES
HOURS
Thanks to a grant from MBEF, the library is currently funded nearly full-time and will be open every school day.
Please keep in mind that we have many drop off and pick up times at Pacific school. Even though your class may be finished or hasn't started yet, others classes may be in session. With that in mind:

Please keep in mind that we have many drop off and pick up times at Pacific school. Even though your class may be finished or hasn't started yet, others classes may be in session. With that in mind:
- Students may conduct library business before school from 8:00-8:15 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
- After school, students may visit the library with their parent or caregiver after the last scheduled class is finished. Daily library hours and class schedule is posted on the library door and here (it changes daily). Please be sure there is no class in session before entering the library.
- Kindergartners may check out books with their parents or caregivers after school on Wednesday 1:30-3:00, and on Thursday 1:30-3:00.
- Fourth and Fifth Grade students may visit the library during their lunch recess (11:40-12:25) to do homework, check out and return books, or read!
- Parents are always welcome to check out books during the hours outlined above.
- Kindergarteners may check out 1 book each to keep in a basket in their classroom.
- First Graders may check out 1 book each to keep in their desk for free reading or occasionally a project (i.e. animal report).
- Second Graders may check out 2 books and may take them home or keep them at school.
- Third Graders may check out 3 books and may take them home or keep them at school.
- Fourth Graders may check out up to 4 books and may take them home or keep them at school.
- Fifth Graders may check out up to 5 books and may take them home or keep them at school.
- Books are due in two weeks.
- Renewals: Books may be renewed once, but additional renewals may be done only if there is no one else waiting for the book.
- Overdue notices will be sent to the parent periodically via email for 2nd-5th graders.
- Late fees are not charged, but if a book is lost or damaged it must be replaced or paid for. Cash or checks (made payable to MBUSD) are accepted.
